We have not adjusted our membership contributions since the formal scale was initially established in 2016. This has meant that, in real terms, the value of the contributions has decreased over the years, putting a strain on our ability to carry out vital initiatives and support our members effectively.

Inflation has reduced the value of our current membership fees, which we haven't increased since they were set in 2016. However, our membership has grown significantly over the past seven years, going from fewer than 30 foundation members to 70. Even as we grow we are committed to maintaining the highly relational style which has always been a hallmark of ECFC. As well, now that the pandemic is over, we are resuming in-person meetings, continuing virtual programming, and maintaining strong connections with our expanded network of foundation members and allies while leading policy initiatives that will benefit early-childhood education.

What if my foundation can’t make this new contribution level?
ECFC wants to work with you! Recognizing that some foundations need time to plan and budget, we will:

• Maintain current rates for members who joined in 2023 if the new members have difficulty contributing at the new level.
• Set March 31, 2024 as the due date for 2024 membership contributions, to allow for adequate time to budget for this expense.
• Offer multiple ways for you to structure your support, including receiving the member contribution as a grant.  Additionally, if the size of the annual contribution warrants a multi-years grant, we can work with you to accommodate this.
