The Zanvyl and Isabelle Krieger Fund supports programs that enhance individual and community potential. The Fund primarily is committed to programs that benefit residents of Baltimore City. The Fund's philosophy is that a healthy city is made up of families and individuals who have the personal and financial stability to reach their their goals and to raise their children. To that end, the Fund supports efforts to increase opportunities for those with the least wealth.
Over the years, as we have learned about brain development in the first three years and the protection that a strong attachment with a caregiver provides, we have focused our grantmaking in this area. Early childhood in general is an underfunded area, and we look forward to having colleagues who share our funding interest in ECFC. As a small Foundation, we hope to learn from those with greater resources.
