Mission
CSPC’s mission is to build power and support a movement in marginalized communities of families and childcare providers to change systems, build leaders, and train families and providers to be the strongest and best advocates for their children to succeed in school and beyond.
Highlights
A new part-time learning and evaluation specialist will help the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition (CSPC) use data more effectively in their advocacy with Spanish-speaking parents and family, friend, and neighbor caregivers. They plan to conduct a family priorities survey. This research is informed by CSPC’s experience as part of a learning cohort on how to decolonize evaluation and research.
In 2021 the legislation passed a one time $100M investment in EC and in 2022, the state invested $50M as a match to federal ARP.
Also in 2022, over 75 people graduated from Providers Advancing School Outcomes cohorts which is a 120 hour early childhood education program. They also trained over 160 Family & Friends Network Providers in Colorado. And lastly, they had 16 groups of 3 Spanish speaking volunteers inform the immigrant community about their rights and voting. They were able to reach and educate 2,000+ people.
