This event was held on September 28, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

ECFC’s Indigenous Early Childhood Workgroup hosted a discussion with Moushumi Beltangady and Eva Carter from the Administration for Children and Families to share the rollout of the Tribal Early Learning Initiative (TELI). Funders learned how the TELI project came about, its goals to support tribes, and four ways funders can partner on the TELI work including:

  1. Supporting the planning and execution of an annual in-person TELI Collaborative convening, strengthening the opportunity for peer sharing and learning. This would include logistical support, content development, and costs of travel for TELI teams. (Estimated cost: $135,000 annually)
  2. Providing flexible mini grants directly to TELI Collaborative tribes to support their planning and implementation efforts and maximize their ability to engage their communities and partners and ensure success. (Estimated cost: $15-25,000 per tribe annually)
  3. Telling the story of the TELI (for example, conducting pre- and post-interviews with each tribe, developing interim and final reports, and engaging in creative dissemination strategies to ensure that successes, highlights, and lessons learned are shared broadly). (Estimated cost: $35-50,000)
  4. Bringing additional expertise and support to the TELI Collaborative participants, including expert consultants, to share cutting-edge knowledge and resources with the tribes. (Estimated cost: $30,000)

Funders interested in contributing to this project or talking with ECFC about this opportunity can reach out to April Luong.
