National Day of Racial Healing
This event was held on January 21, 2025
Part of W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Truth, Racial Healing Transformation efforts.

The National Day of Racial Healing is a moment to reflect on our shared values and commit to the ongoing work of dismantling racism in our communities and systems. Launched in 2017, this annual observance calls on individuals, organizations, and communities across the country to take intentional steps toward racial healing and equity.
Hosted by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the day builds on the work of the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation initiative, underscoring a core truth: racial healing is essential to advancing racial equity.
Two new books on racial healing by WKKF president & CEO La June Montgomery Tabron are also available to help you take the first – or the next – step on this racial healing jourey: “How We Heal,” seeks to inspire people to empower themselves in taking that step. “Our Differences Make Us Stronger” is a story helping children understand the importance of learning from our differences, rather than ignoring them. In it, Montgomery Tabron shows young readers that sharing our stories, listening to others and learning about our differences are the first steps to building a stronger community.
ECFC encourages our members and partners to participate in local events marking the day and create spaces for meaningful conversations with your teams, grantees, or broader communities using the digital toolkit conversation guide and resources at DayofRacialHealing.org.
