Building Better Futures: Empowering Communities Through Investments in Child Care Facilities

Child care facilities don’t just house programs, they enable the excellent care that drives measurable child outcomes and sustainable program operations. As communities across the nation seek to address the critical shortage of child care, the public and private sectors are increasingly directing resources to address structural barriers to building the supply of excellent child care in high performing, developmentally appropriate spaces.

This “Ask the Experts” interactive session brought together child care-focused community development financial institutions (CDFIs), members of the National Children’s Facilities Network (NCFN), and early childhood funders to discuss breakthrough infrastructure policies, identify capital deployment strategies for facility improvements, and explore how philanthropy can effectively integrate facilities into comprehensive child care expansion efforts.
