ECFC & NAP Indigenous Early Childhood Workgroup Session: Understanding Public Funding for Native Children and Youth

ECFC’s Indigenous Early Childhood (IEC) Workgroup hosted a discussion open to all members of ECFC and the IEC workgroup with Elizabeth Gaines, Founder and CEO and Sarai Cook, Director of Native Children and Youth Funding at the Children’s Funding Project (CFP) to learn about their work on strategic public financing, and what led them to research funding for Native children and youth including hiring a Native research team. The team is deep in discovery mode and forging relationships with community members to craft the messages and strategies to assist Tribes in securing the public funding needed to ensure Native children and youth thrive.  The discussion will also provide feedback to CFP on funding issues or pain points ECFC Members are hearing from grantees and ideas ECFC members want to put forward for the project’s awareness.
