ECFC members gathered in Alexandria, VA for two days of reflection, strategy, and peer learning grounded in the realities facing children, families, and communities across the country.
At a time of rapid policy change and increasing strain on the systems families rely on, the Spring 2026 Member Meeting created space to reconnect, learn from one another, and consider what this moment demands of philanthropy.
Across full-group conversations, peer exchange, breakout sessions, and informal connection opportunities, members explored how funders are navigating this moment with urgency, creativity, and partnership.
Highlights from our time together included conversations with community and grantee partners from Minnesota, Michigan, and Virginia; funder reflections on how we use our influence, relationships, and voice to meet this moment; peer exchange discussions on funder coordination and grassroots organizing; and concurrent sessions exploring strategies and tools showing momentum and promise for protecting children and families.
The meeting concluded with a call to strengthen real-time dialogue and coordination across local, state, and national levels so philanthropy can respond more effectively together.
Most importantly, the Spring 2026 Member Meeting reflected the value of the ECFC community and the importance of learning alongside one another in this moment.
