ECFC hosts two in-person meetings per year and a variety of virtual programming intended mainly to meet the learning needs of our members. We value having wider audiences in our discussions, but we limit in-person member meetings and some of our virtual engagements to our members so we can engage them as deeply as possible.
ECFC IN-PERSON MEMBER MEETINGS:
ECFC members are invited to send up to two representatives per member foundation/organization to ECFC in-person member meetings, with one person being the designated ECFC representative as often as possible for consistency. Two attendees per in-person meeting is a member benefit, but this also helps us ensure a balance among smaller and larger members (as some members have more staff focused on EC than other members have on their entire staff). As space allows, we will welcome additional attendees per member foundation/collaborative.
There are also times when it would make sense for an ECFC member organization to have more than two attendees - when discussions directly relate to the portfolio and expertise of additional foundation staff or if the member is presenting or leading a session. In this case, ECFC trusts each member to use their judgement to determine who will attend member meetings, but asks members to confirm when more than two individuals may be attending before registering/making travel arrangements for 3rd persons.
As space allows, ECFC also welcomes guest funders interested in membership to learn more about our work before committing to membership. Get started by learning more about membership criteria and contributions.
ECFC Member Meeting Costs:
Attendance for up to 2 representatives per ECFC member for two in-person meetings per year is included in ECFC's annual membership contribution. As such, we do not have a registration fee. We do request that ECFC members confirmed to send 3 or more attendees make a voluntary contribution of $1,000 per additional attendee to defray the real costs of meeting participation. Once ECFC confirms 3rd or more attendees, we will provide information on making this voluntary contribution by ACH, check or credit card (via Stripe portal).
VIRTUAL EVENTS:
ECFC Member Participation in Virtual Events:
All staff of ECFC member foundations, and staff, consultants and individual funders of ECFC member local or state funder collaboratives are invited to attend ECFC virtual events. There is no limit to ECFC member participation at virtual events.
Other Funder & Philanthropy Participation in ECFC Virtual Events:
We value participation in our events from partners, advocates and community voices although and many of our virtual events are open to a wider audience. However, we do reserve some events for our members and other funders/philanthropy representatives to engage them as deeply as possible and provide opportunities for them to connect with each other around grantmaking strategy. Eligible funders/philanthropy representatives include: funders whose primary purpose or major strategy is grantmaking, funder networks and collaboratives, and associations of grantmakers. Consultants or advisors currently contracted by a qualifying philanthropy may qualify to participate as a representative of that institution. Please direct questions about event participation eligibility to Rena Large, ECFC Program Director.
