ECFC hosts two in-person meetings per year and a variety of virtual programming intended mainly to meet the learning needs of our members. We value having wider audiences in our discussions, but we limit in-person member meetings and some of our virtual engagements to our members so we can engage them as deeply as possible. ECFC members are invited to send up to two representatives per member foundation/organization to ECFC in-person member meetings, with one person being the designated ECFC representative as often as possible for consistency. Two attendees per in-person meeting is a member benefit. As space allows, we will welcome additional attendees per member foundation/collaborative.
As space allows, ECFC also welcomes guest funders interested in membership to learn more about our work before committing to membership. Get started by learning more about membership criteria and contributions.
ECFC Member Meeting Costs:
Attendance for up to 2 representatives per ECFC member for two in-person meetings per year is a member benefit included in ECFC's annual membership contribution. ECFC members interested in sending 3 or more attendees to in-person member meetings, as well as guest funders, are asked to make a contribution of $1,500 per attendee to defray the real costs of meeting participation. Payment options include ACH, check or credit card (via Stripe portal).
ECFC Member Participation in Virtual Events:
All staff of ECFC member foundations, and staff, consultants and individual funders of ECFC member local or state funder collaboratives are invited to attend ECFC virtual events. There is no limit to ECFC member participation at virtual events.
Other Funder & Philanthropy Participation in ECFC Virtual Events:
We value participation in our events from partners, advocates and community voices although and many of our virtual events are open to a wider audience. However, we do reserve some events for our members and other grantmaker/philanthropy representatives to engage them as deeply as possible and provide opportunities for them to connect with each other around grantmaking strategy. Eligible grantmaker/philanthropy attendees include:
- Staff and consultants of grantmaking institutions with grants to U.S.-based organizations, including private, corporate, family, public, community & operating foundations, donor-advised funds, pooled funds, and giving circles.
- Staff and consultants of local and state funder collaboratives.
- Consultants or advisors representing a specific qualifying grantmaker/philanthropy institution.
- Philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs): staff of grantmaker affinity groups, regional associations of grantmakers or donor networks.

ECFC aims to make our events as accessible as possible. To request accommodations for fully participating in virtual or in-person events, please indicate requests in your registration or contact Rena Large.
ECFC strives to create spaces for candid conversation and shared learning among funders, grantee partners and community guests and speakers. To facilitate this, ECFC asks that all participants keep the following guidelines in mind:
- All attendees (speakers, invited guests, and ECFC members) are asked to refrain from seeking grants, donors or clients, or engaging in any other type of solicitation during ECFC events.
- It is permissible to follow up with contacts made at the meeting at their invitation, however, we ask that this not happen in advance of or at the meeting.
- All attendees of our in-person meetings, including speakers and community partners in attendance, are provided with attendee contact directories. Contact information in these materials is for networking purposes only. No attendee should add any other individual’s contact information to your organization’s mailing list without that person’s permission.
This policy is not intended to prevent or discourage conversations about shared interests, potential partnerships, collaborative efforts, or opportunities to align funding. Rather this policy is intended to create an environment in which attendees can freely network with peers, share best practices, and have open, frank dialogue about issues that concern them.
ECFC reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any ECFC event without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. ECFC may use the photograph/video in publications, social media or other media material produced, used or contracted by ECFC.
By attending any in-person event hosted by ECFC, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded. Your attendance constitutes your consent to such photography and recording for any use, in any media, in perpetuity, by Early Childhood Funders Collaborative, and our fiscal sponsor Third Sector New England (TSNE) for its promotional purposes.
