Launched in 2017, the Arizona Early Childhood Funders Collaborative is a group of Arizona foundations focused on improving outcomes for Arizona children birth to 8. In 2018, the AZ ECFC launched Born to Learn AZ, in an effort to educate policymakers and political candidates about the value of high-quality early education. As part of this effort, the Born to Learn initiative conducted their second annual survey of likely Arizona voters in the October of 2020 which identified high percentages of support for increased state investment and involvement in early childhood education. The survey also highlighted voters’ concerns with the quality, availability, and affordability of early education and confirmed that Arizona voters understand the connection between early education and future academic performance.
The AZ ECFC is staffed by Arizona Grantmakers Forum, which is the statewide network that connects, educates and advocates for Arizona philanthropy.
Five charter member foundations (private and community). The suggested buy-in is $10,000 per foundation. Membership dues are total philanthropic expenditures in Arizona during your last fiscal year.
